One of Tui Na’s advantages over simple massage is its ability to focus on specific problems. The most popular use of Tui Na is chronic musculoskeletal pain. It can be especially effective for joint pain (such as arthritis), sciatica, muscle spasms, and pain in the back, neck, and shoulders.
While Tui Na is helpful in most pain conditions, it can also be used when treating more internal issues such as insomnia, constipation, headaches or migraines, and tension associated with stress.
Like acupuncture, Tui Na does not simply work on the muscles, bones, and joints. It can access the body at a deeper level by stimulating the channels and acupuncture points. As I perform Tui Na, I am able to feel and asses the balance of the body and work to improve flow and maintain health.
